Meaning of our National Anthem Jana Gana Mana

The national anthem of India ‘Jana Gana Mana’ is the five-stanza of the Brahmo hymn by the same name composed and scored in a highly Sanskritized Bengali by Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore in 1911.

Jana Gana Mana was adopted by the Constituent Assembly as the National Anthem of India on 24 January 1950.It was first sung on 27 December 1911 at the Calcutta (now, Kolkata) Session of the Indian National Congress.
